We're engaged!

Ok, so last Friday it happened. Duane and I got up at 6:30AM to go to the AT&T store because I had pre-ordered the iPhone 3G S. The store opened at 7:00AM but I had to be to work at 8:00AM, and considering the past winding lines that have formed at previous iPhone launches, I figured I'd better get there early to make sure I'd get the phone activated and back to work on time.

(Yes, believe it or not, I'm getting to the point here)

So while we're standing in line, Duane offered to get me some chicken mini's from Chik-fil-a. By the time he got back it was about time to go in, so I just told him to leave them in the car until we were done with AT&T. After we were all done with getting the phone taken care of, we got back in the car and I, of course, INSTANTLY start playing with my new toy. Meanwhile, Duane is asking me to eat my chicken mini's. I kept telling him that I would, but that I wanted to play with my iPhone first. After the 7th time of him asking me to eat my food, I finally reached down into the floor board, by my feet, where the bag was sitting. I put my hand in to grab the chicken mini's box, but I felt something much different inside! There was a hard, square box, which I pulled out and of course, I instantly knew what it was :) Inside was my beautiful ring from Bailey's Fine Jewelry in Cameron Village in Raleigh (yes I had to plug them, because they're awesome!). Then Duane asked me to marry him! It was really sweet and it was a very exciting day.

Do be do be dooo

Yep, it's Tuesday. I'm impatiently waiting :)

Impatient should be my first name...

I have been relentlessly prying, trying to think of the most clever ways to find out when Duane is going to pop the question. And let me tell you, the boy is good. Up to this point, he has successfully avoided spilling the beans. Dammit.

I'm actually stumped. Not only is it complete torture having to wait for this for *at least* the next week, but I also have to wait for my shiny new iPhone for the next week too. A week from tomorrow to be exact. This next week is going to drag by...

At least I get to pick up Caleb tomorrow, I'm super excited about that. I'm going to take him to get his hair cut and probably ice cream after that. Then, who knows but we're going to have a mommy and Caleb day!

Can you tell I'm excited?

As you may or may not have noticed, this post is being made before the engagement has even taken place! Many of you know that Duane and I have this knack for doing things backwards, and this is yet another testament to it :) But I assure you this website will be completely justified at some point this month... or else you'll need to find Duane and put a hurtin' on him!

Anywhoo...

This will be everything you need to know about our impending marriage (hmm, sounds ominous when put that way). And I'm sure there will be some random things that you could probably care less about, but nonetheless, we'll post important things that you need to know and we'll try to use labels to help you sift thru the nonsense.
